Meet Us

Hi, I'm Jessica Jean TerraNova.

Premier Dog GroomerPet Care + Handling ExpertLicensed & Insured

I've been grooming dogs professionally for 26 years and love working with all breeds. From day one I've been driven to keep learning and growing, especially in specialized handling, so every dog on my table feels safe, calm, and cared for.

Everything I do is built on positive reinforcement and low-stress handling. I've done veterinary grooming, including sedated grooms under veterinary supervision, led grooming teams, owned my own shop, and today I train other groomers. Licensed and insured, I'm excited to care for your dog.

As a Premier Dog Groomer and Pet Care + Handling Expert, I combine my lifelong love for animals with top-tier grooming techniques to ensure every pup looks and feels their best, whether it's a spa day for your furry friend or specialized handling for anxious pets.

“Grooming is more than just a haircut. It's a unique relationship formed through trust.”

My approach is simple: a calm, gentle experience for your dog, a finished groom you'll love, and tips to keep them looking great between visits. That's what I mean by going above and beyond.

Jessica Jean TerraNova

Owner & Master Groomer

My specialty

Dogs who need a little extra care

Some dogs need more than a quick groom. I specialize in geriatric, special handling, disabled, and body-trauma pets, plus anxious pups. Speed grooming is available too, for dogs who do best with less time on the table.

Special Handling

Patient, low-stress techniques for dogs who have had a hard time at the groomer before.

Disabled & Body-Trauma Pets

Careful positioning and support for dogs with mobility limits, injuries, body trauma, or other physical needs, informed by rehabilitation training.

Rehabilitation for Nervous Pets

A slow pace, breaks when needed, and behavior-informed handling so nervous dogs learn to relax. Speed grooming available when shorter is kinder.

Geriatric & Special-Needs Animals

Gentle handling for geriatric & special-needs animals, with extra attention to joints, skin, and stamina.

Aggressive & Reactive Dogs

Experienced, safety-first handling with positive reinforcement, so reactive dogs get groomed without the struggle.

Owner Education

Pointers for home: what brush to buy, brushing techniques, and when to (or not to) bathe at home.

“There are no ‘naughty dogs.’ There are only misunderstood ones who need extra time and care in the right hands.”

The Down + Details

Pricing & policies

Prices are a range from size, needs, time spent, and condition of coat. Not one dog is the same. All prices are finalized upon grooming appointment, with your groomer, at check in.

What affects time & price

Time can vary with consideration of:

  • Coat length and condition
  • Matting and tangles (and severity)
  • De-shedding (and severity)
  • Extra cleanup time for severe shedding inside the unit
  • Time between grooms
  • Your dog's behavior
  • Senior dogs

Common breed surcharges

$10–40

Thick, curly coats or complex scissoring, such as Doodle mixes, Schnauzers, Cocker mixes, and Pomeranians.

$10–40

Thick double coats, such as German Shepherds and Huskies. These often need extra time for severe de-shedding and may include added time to clean the unit.

We are willing to work with clients

We are open for ideas such as shorter length, less scissor perfection, or pointers for owners to do at home, such as what brush to buy, brushing techniques, and when to or not to bathe at home, to help reduce time and cost if interested or needed.

Cancellations & late arrivals

We value our groomers' time and understand that cancellations may happen unexpectedly. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us as soon as possible. A $25 fee will be charged to your card on file for no-shows or last-minute cancellations. There may be a charge for late arrival; there's a 15-minute grace period on your appointment time.

Frequently asked questions

How do I book an appointment?

Use the booking form below, call or text (801) 577-6782, or email me at pawsitivepetgroomer@gmail.com. Share your dog's name, breed, size, and the service you're interested in, and I'll get back to you to confirm a time.

How much does grooming cost?

Pricing depends on your dog's size, breed, coat condition, and the service. Prices are a range, finalized with your groomer at check-in. Some breeds commonly have a $10–40 surcharge. See The Down + Details for more.

How often should my dog be groomed?

Most dogs do well with a groom every 4 to 8 weeks, depending on coat type and lifestyle. Dogs with continuously growing coats (like Poodles and Doodles) usually benefit from the shorter end. I'm happy to recommend a schedule for your dog.

Do you groom large dogs?

Absolutely. Large and giant breeds are welcome, including double-coated breeds that need a thorough de-shed.

My dog is nervous. Can you help?

Yes, high-anxiety dogs are one of my specialties. I use positive reinforcement and low-stress handling, informed by training with an animal behaviorist, and I go slowly, use gentle handling, and take breaks as needed. Let me know about any sensitivities when you book.

Can you groom senior, disabled, body-trauma, or aggressive dogs?

Yes. Seniors and dogs with physical disabilities are a big part of why I pursued specialized handling, including training with a dog rehabilitation therapist. I also have veterinary grooming experience and handle aggressive and reactive dogs safely. Tell me about your dog's needs and I'll plan the groom around their comfort.

Is there a size limit?

In-house grooming is available to small dogs (20 lb limit). Salon grooming is for our bigger best friends, and it's ALL breed inclusive: all shapes, sizes, specialized needs, and breeds.

Do you offer speed grooming?

Yes, speed grooming is available. Mention it when you book.

Do you offer pet sitting?

Yes! Pawsitive Pet Groomer offers in-house pet sitting to all clients. As pet owners, we know how anxiety-inducing it can be to leave your four-legged kid behind. Walks, feedings, overnights, check-ins, medication administration, & maybe even watering a plant (or 7).

Can we keep the time and cost down?

We are willing to work with clients. We are open for ideas such as shorter length, less scissor perfection, or pointers for owners to do at home, like what brush to buy, brushing techniques, and when to or not to bathe at home.

When should my puppy have their first groom?

Once your puppy has had their vaccinations, a gentle first groom is a great way to build a positive, lifelong relationship with grooming.

What are your hours?

Call or text (801) 577-6782 for availability.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please let me know as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. A $25 fee is charged to your card on file for no-shows or last-minute cancellations. There's a 15-minute grace period on your appointment time; late arrivals beyond that may be charged.
